Learning in S38

Senior School Marshall is sharing the learning taking place in their class…

S38 are sparking their imagination.

This term S38 students have been immersed in reading the novel Two Wolves by Tristan Bancks during our reading sessions. This engaging story has not only sparked their imaginations but also provided a great opportunity to continue enhancing their comprehension skills. Students have been involved in thought-provoking discussions and activities that explore the novel’s themes. They have been reflecting on how the characters' choices resonate with their own lives and examining how the story's messages can be applied to their personal experiences. The enthusiasm and insight they bring to our discussions has been a great reflection on their growing abilities as readers and thinkers.

This week in Maths students have been working on understanding, adding, subtracting and manipulating decimals, specifically focusing on tenths and hundredths.

One of the highlights has been the interactive game “Race to 1.” This game is an excellent way for students to apply their learning in a playful, competitive environment. As they raced to the finish line, they added decimal numbers (tenths and hundredths), trying to be the first to reach exactly 1. It was impressive to see all students enjoying themselves and developing a deeper understanding of decimals.
