Le Francais

Bonjour tout le monde!

Term 3 FRENCH POETRY COMPETITION

BPPS students have continued to work hard on the challenge of the BPPS French Poetry Recitation competition.

Their journey has been gratifying indeed. Starting from not knowing a single word of the poem, now in week 6, they are well and truly becoming pro's at the words, the pronunciation, actions and expression that they will need to impress their fellow classmates in the class finals in week 8.

Classes will be looking for memorisation, authentic French sounds, actions, confidence and performance skills and maybe even the "je ne sais quoi" which will make someone stand out in a crowd. Using the criteria mentioned, three students will be selected from each class to compete in the level finals which will happen in Week 9, planning week.

Of course students need to be present on the day to compete in the finals and judging teachers’ decisions are final. Winners will receive CL&S awards and French book prizes which will be presented in Term 4.

The in-house poetry competition has been running for a few years now and its purpose is to encourage students to hone confidence, application, memorisation and oral presentation skills in preparation for high school, work and life in general.
