Performing Arts
In the Classroom...
Recently in Performing Arts, year 3-6 students have been practicing finding and notating treble and bass clef line notes on the music staff. Students also used their knowledge of treble and bass clef notes to solve a detective case by deciphering words.
Student examples:
F-2 students have been drawing notes on the treble clef, with F-1 students focusing on treble clef line notes, and year 2 students practicing how to draw the full scale on the treble clef line and spaces. Our junior students also put their understanding of the treble clef notes into practice by learning how to find these notes on the piano keyboard. If any parents and carers without a piano at home would like to help their children practice more of this, here is a link to the online piano we have been using in class:
In future weeks, students will use their knowledge of the treble clef notes to:
Year prep+1
- Identify, notate and dictate notes on the treble clef
Year 2
- Identify, notate and dictate notes on the treble clef
- Form a simple melodic pattern of 4 notes
Year 3/4
