NAIDOC Celebration

This Friday we are holding a special assembly celebrating NAIDOC week. We have a special presentation and celebration from one of our students and their parent.

Arrive and get a seat early!

As part of this assembly, we will be unveiling the whole school artwork which has been created, inspired by the vision of one of our students and the work Lisa Trevorrow is doing with students in the art program.

Neurodiversity conversation - Quiet Expo

Our end of term Expo sees our classrooms filled with excitement, lots of movement and noise.

For some members of the community this makes the Expos hard to access. We are going to be holding a Quiet Expo prior to the main Expo to support access. Whilst we say quiet, everyone knows the students will be excited but there will be fewer people present and we hope to meet the needs of specific visitors in our classrooms.

Year 6

Helping students prepare for secondary school, covering the physical, emotional, and social changes that occur during puberty, encouraging students to reflect on how this affects their relationships and sense of self.

Each student has a booklet they are working through, Year 5/6 parents keep an eye out for the booklet as it comes home to assist you in continuing the conversation.

Wellbeing

This week our Wellbeing Team, led by Kristen Schultz presented a professional learning session to the staff. They provided some more learning for us around Restorative Practices and Respectful Relationships.

Kristen and Shannon Reeve are working to build our knowledge around the new Disability Inclusion (DI), to ensure the school is ready for 2025 and our movement into the full funding of the program. Students with a disability will now have learning profiles put together to support requests for funding, with ten weeks of observations and records of adjustments made to the learning program to support them to have equal access to education. This replaces the Program for students with a disability. The new DI will consist of three tiers of funding, as a school we are working to be fully prepared for the change next year.

The Book Fair is in full swing, has your child bought a book yet? There are lots to pick from. A reminder the school gets a percentage for the total of books sold, which can be used to buy books for the library.
