Book Week

Book Week is next week! This year’s theme is “Reading is Magic” and GSSC is getting excited. We will be running lots of competitions and activities all week ending with a Whole School Book Inspired DRESS UP DAY! Start organising your costumes!

 

Competitions

Reading is Magic poetry competition

Students are encouraged to write a “Reading is Magic” acrostic poem. One poem will receive a library prize and will published in our next newsletter and end of year magazine!

Book cover design

Students are encouraged to design a book cover for their favourite book, using the theme “Magic.”

Best dressed

Prizes will be provided to our best-dressed student on our dress up day.

Scavenger

On our dress up day, we will have a scavenger. Stay tuned for the theme- all will be revealed next Friday! Scavenger cards can be collected from neighbourhood receptions.

 

Lunchtime activities

Book Week lunchtime activities such as trivia, colouring and word searches will be available in all library's, every day!

 

The shortlisted books for “Book of the Year” are available for reading in all three library spaces!

Drawing Club

Drawing club runs from the Biyala Library on Fridays at lunchtime with our talented artist, Joan Erikson. All students are welcome!
