Concert News; Request for Assistance with Prop Transport - Thursday, September 12th

As we prepare for our upcoming event, we need assistance in transferring some props to the theatre on Thursday, September 12th. We are wondering if any parent has access to a van that we could borrow or if anyone might be available to help us drive the props over on Thursday morning.

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Book Week Celebrations

This Tuesday, we held our annual Book Week Dress-Up Parade, and it was a huge success! It was wonderful to see all the children creatively dressed as a wide variety of book characters. The joy and enthusiasm were infectious as everyone got into the spirit of the day.

Throughout the week, the children have enjoyed exploring the shortlisted CBCA books—my personal favorite is The Concrete Garden. The photos below capture some of the excitement and fun from the parade.

MACSIS Surveys

Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS) are conducted annually for schools in the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne. This year’s MACSSIS window is from Monday 2 September to Friday 20 September 2024.

Next Thursday 29th August we will be sending out to a random selection of families the keys to participate in this survey. We ask that families please help us with this data. The survey takes approximately 20 minutes and gives the school perception data. This data tells us about what different people in a school community think and feel about their learning environment. It helps us to continually improve our school.

First Reconciliation for Year 3 Students

Next week, our baptized Catholic Year 3 students will be receiving their First Reconciliation. These special events will take place on Tuesday, August 27, and Thursday, August 29, at 7 PM in St. Bede's Church.

We keep these children in our prayers as they make this important step in their faith journey. The roster detailing which night each student will be making this sacrament is available on the Religious Education News page of the newsletter.

Important Reminder: School Closure Day - Friday, September 6

As previously mentioned in our weekly newsletter calendar, please be reminded that Friday, September 6, is a scheduled school closure day. On this day, our staff will be engaging in professional development focused on Laudato Si and the pedagogies of teaching Religious Education.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we dedicate this time to enhancing our teaching practices.

Premier's Reading Challenge

A reminder that the challenge finishes in 2 weeks on Friday 6th September. Please have all reading recorded in the website by Thursday 5th September to allow me time to verify all books.

Thank you for your continued support.

Go the Roos.

Regards,

Larissa
