SENIOR ENSEMBLES INDUCTION DAY
On Thursday 21 November students involved in Senior music ensembles had an intensive induction day to kick start their learning for next year. Students had the opportunity to try some of the repertoire for next year, as well as work on expectations and general musicianship skills. We were pleased to have Andrew van Gemert come as a guest conductor to workshop Orchestra and Wind Symphony. Many thanks to Tracy Videon for organising the day and to Clare Bugeja, Karen Nansen, Stuart Cook and Grace James for assisting.

Thank you to ensemble directors: Clare Bugeja, Stuart Cook, Georgina Mead, Karen Nansen, Megan Papworth, Blanka West and Colleen Wurfel. Thank you also to the MAV team for their ongoing support of these events.

JUNIOR CONCERT
Congratulations to the Year 7 Strings, Year 7 Bands, Junior Singers, Year 7 Percussion and the Intermediate Stage Band who performed beautifully for parents and friends on Thursday 28 November. The performance work was of a high standard and demonstrated a strong development in their musical skills. Thank you to all ensemble directors: Stuart Byne, Sergei Golovko, Michael Lee, Megan Waugh, Blanka West and Martin West. Thank you again to the MAV team for their support for these performances.
HIRE INSTRUMENTS
Students who hire instruments through the school are reminded that they will need to return these to the school as directed by their instrumental teacher, so that we can run maintenance over them. Students who are continuing their lessons at the school next year and who wish to hire instruments over the holidays, will be notified when the instrument is ready to be picked up.
