We have been enjoying the glorious weather over the past few weeks at the ELC. The teaching teams have taken advantage of this beautiful weather by creating engaging play spaces within our playgrounds for children to explore, we have also seen more dancing, sports and picnics taking place outside. As we are heading into spring, please ensure you pack your child’s sunhat and apply sunscreen prior to arrival to ensure your child is sun smart and ready for outside play!
We enjoyed a wonderful Book Week at the ELC! The children and staff were thrilled to showcase their book week costumes in two parades, it was so lovely to see our beautiful community of parents, grandparents and special people waving, smiling and cheering us on! I would like to thank you all for making the time to be part of the fun and a big thankyou to those of you who also supported the former OG student and their Real Barista Coffee van!
Here are some important reminders for the remainder of term three:
- Please pack your child’s sunhat (clearly labelled with their full name) every day
- Please RSVP to the Family Church Tour on Friday 30 August at 2:15pm by emailing khills@oakleighgrammar.vic.edu.au

The children have been actively engaging in a variety of enriching learning experiences within the classroom. Recently, we introduced a captivating new addition to our learning environment: the Space Station. This imaginative and interactive setup has quickly become a favourite amongst the children, sparking their curiosity and enthusiasm as they embark on thrilling journeys to different planets within our solar system.
As they explore the Space Station, the children are immersing themselves in role-play and hands-on activities that stimulate their creativity and problem-solving skills. The Space Station has become a dynamic hub for peer interaction, where the children collaborate and communicate effectively. They are working together to prepare their Spaceship for take-off, carefully following a checklist to ensure everything is in order before their interplanetary adventures begin.
We are thrilled to observe the depth of their engagement and the richness of their interactions in this new learning area. As the children continue to explore and expand their experiences within the Space Station, we are excited to see how their learning evolves over the coming weeks. This exploration not only enhances their understanding of space and science concepts but also supports their social and cognitive development in a fun and meaningful way.
