Principal's Message

As we move through another busy couple of weeks at Kismet Park PS, we’re excited to share the latest updates and achievements from our school community.

There’s been plenty of activity, from Book Week celebrations to sports successes, and we have some important reminders as we head towards the end of term. Please take a moment to read through and stay informed about what’s happening around the school.

Book Week Celebrations

This week, we celebrated Book Week with a costume parade ending the weeks celebration’s. It was great to see the amount of effort students and staff put into their costumes. The parade was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who participated and made the event so enjoyable.

Teachers vs Students Netball Game

Last week, we had a lively Teachers vs Students netball game. Both teams played with enthusiasm, and it was a closely contested match. In the end, the teachers managed to edge out a win—some might say it was their height advantage that made the difference! Well done to all participants for their efforts and sportsmanship.

Sports Achievements

We’re pleased to share some recent sports achievements:

  • Girls Regional Netball Finals: Our girls’ team competed in the Regional finals and placed 3rd. Congratulations on a strong performance.
  • District Athletics: Last week’s District Athletics event saw many students achieving great results. Congratulations to everyone who took part.
  • Dion Blanc (3/4A): Dion has been selected for the Victorian Futsal West Vic team in the under 10s category. He will be competing in the Nationals tournament in Sydney this January. We wish him all the best.
  • Mitchell Clarke (Grade 6C): Mitchell competed in the Victorian State Short Course Championships in Traralgon and won a bronze medal. Well done, Mitchell.

Art Show Reminder

A reminder that our Art Show will take place on 12th September from 3:30-6pm. There will be food, drinks, and raffle prizes, including artwork from visiting artists. We encourage all families to attend and support our students' artistic efforts.

Kinder Visit to the Library

On Monday, the kinder students from next door visited our library and read with the Grade 5 students, who will be their buddies next year. It was a great opportunity for the kinder kids to connect with our students, and we look forward to seeing them become part of our school community next year.

SunSmart Reminder

As we approach warmer weather, please remember that students will need to start wearing hats from 1st September. This is part of our SunSmart policy—no hat, no play

Parking and Drop-Off Reminders

We kindly remind parents to avoid using the staff car park for drop-offs and pick-ups, particularly the emergency bays. If students arrive late, parents should accompany them to the office to sign them in on the Kiosk.

Have a great weekend!
