The Holy Spirit is the gentle whisper guiding us, the light illuminating our path, and the strength within that lifts us toward love, peace, and truth.

Gospel Reading

Mark 12:38-44

Jesus notices a poor widow’s offering and commends her great sacrifice.

Sometimes being generous involves making a sacrifice. One way we judge generosity is by the sacrifice required to make the gift. It is much more difficult to give away a piece of clothing we like very much and still fits. It requires us to make a sacrifice, to give up something we like in order to share with another person.

In today’s Gospel, we hear about a woman who was generous.

People who were rich gave a lot of money. However, Jesus called attention to someone else’s generosity. Whose generosity did Jesus acknowledge? The widow gave only two small coins, but her contribution was greater because she gave everything that she had. She trusted God to provide for her.

We are called to be generous like the widow. Many of us can feel that we have little to give to a world that has so many problems. As he did with the widow, Jesus is telling us that what is most important to God is to give what we have with a generous heart.

Congratulations on Receiving Your First Holy Communion Clare!

You have welcomed Jesus into your heart in a new and beautiful way. This is the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith, where God’s love and grace will always be with you.

May you feel His love and peace in every Eucharist, and may this moment remind you always of how deeply you are loved. We are so proud of you and excited for all that this journey will bring.

Congratulations on this sacred milestone!

Prayer for our Confirmation Students

Dear Heavenly Father,

We lift up our Confirmation students to You as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Fill their hearts with Your Holy Spirit and guide them as they journey closer to You.

May they grow in wisdom, understanding, and courage, embracing the gifts You have given them.

Grant them a deep and lasting faith, and may their lives be a reflection of Your love and light in the world.

Strengthen them to follow Your path and inspire them to live as true disciples, sharing hope, kindness, and compassion with all they meet.

Lord, bless these students today and always, that they may walk confidently in Your love, guided by Your Spirit every step of the way.

Amen.

Foundation Parish Mass on Sunday, 24th November
Foundation Parish Mass on Sunday, 24th November

Dear Parents/ Carers,

On Sunday, 24th November, the students from Foundation are rostered to participate at the 9.00am Parish Mass at St Peter’s Catholic Church. All students from Foundation are invited to attend with their families, you do not have to be Catholic to participate. We would love to see all students and their families present.

The students will be involved in a variety of jobs prior to Mass and after Mass so it is important that they are present by 8:50 am.  Families are invited to bring a plate of morning tea to share with parishioners and friends. Please bring the shared morning tea on a disposable plate or in a clearly marked container to the parish hall before 9.00am. We ask no food containing nuts be brought.

Thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers who have agreed to coordinate morning tea for us:

Please contact any one of them to let them know what you will be bringing or if you have any questions.

This is a wonderful initiative to build partnerships between the families and students of St Peter’s Primary School with the parishioners of St Peter’s Parish Church. It is also a school expectation which is a part of our curriculum and brings us together as a Parish and School Community. It is an expectation that parents are with their children during the Mass.

Kind regards,

 Ms Low and Mrs DeVisser
