Instrumental Music News 

Last night as part of the Vermont on Show, the Symphonic Band joined with the Strings Orchestra for a one off performance of the masterwork by Richard Strauss. 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra' for the parents of our new year 7 students. 

The performance was met with thunderous applause as the bands crescendo made even more dramatic by the massive acoustic reverberation of the school gym. 

Thank you to Mr. Ben Muddyman for his work conducting, to Ms. Imogen Willson for her assistance with the Strings Orchestra and to Mr. Jim McGuffie for leading some of the rehearsals. 

Adding to the community spirit of what was a terrific first event was our Chamber Orchestra who performed amongst hundreds of passing art admirers in the main corridor of the building.  

We also had 2 of our Contemporary Rock acts performing live music on the year 7 deck while families enjoyed the sunny afternoon with a sausage in bread from the VSCCA. 

A wonderful and uplifting time was had by all and we thank each and every one of our Instrumental music students who contributed by being involved with the performances, demonstrating instruments to new year 7 students and answering any parent questions regarding our wonderful program.
