Performing Arts - Ms Stanton
Howdy all,
The year may be drawing to a close, but the creativity is still flowing in Performing Arts. Students across the grades have been channeling their expressive skills to create class contributions to a whole school virtual storybook! Take a look below to see what they’ve been working on!
Preps
The Prep are reading Michael Wayne Rosen’s Going on a Bear Hunt. Each class collaboratively came up with repeated movement for the “We’re going on a bear hunt…” refrain and we filmed the acting outside to get a bit more into character.
1/2
The 1/2 classes are all bringing to life stories which revolve around a very special Aussie animal: the wombat! Working as a whole class ensemble they’ve practised character and narrator voices for the sound design and have incorporated special movement, acting, and masks to bring the story to life on film!
3/4
The 3/4 classes have been working on staging and performing three different Dreamtime stories. Working in small ensembles they had to divide the lines, plan their own staging, rehearse and perform their scenes.
5/6
The 5/6s have taken on the challenging task of staging, rehearsing, performing, and filming character monologues from Drew Daywalt’s The Day the Crayons Came Home. Working in the style of a Greek chorus, students annotated and divided lines and planned their staging, taking into consideration audience impact. They then recorded their performances, along with additional B-roll footage to enhance their virtual performance.
I am incredibly proud of the efforts the young performers at Trinity continue to put into their work. Please look forward to seeing the final product soon!
Sincerely,
Ms. Stanton
