Prayer: To the Holy Spirit
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearsts of your faithful
and kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your spirit and they shall be created.
And You shall renew the face of the earth.
Amen
Dear Families,
This Sunday 1st December we celebrate the First Sunday of Advent and the beginning of the season of Hope.
Advent is a season of waiting, expecting, and hoping. “Advent” is a Latin word and means “coming.” For hundreds of years, Christians have used an Advent wreath to remember and celebrate the first coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
This season is especially important for us as a Catholic School community as we prepare for the coming of Jesus Christ. Our children will all be learning about this important event and the significance it plays in our Catholic traditions. Whilst of course we can at times be caught up in all those other exciting aspects of the Christmas season it is essential that we do allow ourselves to stop and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas Day and the lead up time in preparation for our saviours birth. On Wednesday this week, our children all gathered together in our Church for our own Advent Mass and to remind ourselves of what we can do throughout the Advent time.
Christmas Carols and end of Year Family Picnic Celebration
As communicated in last week's newsletter we will be celebrating as a school community with our End of Year Christmas Carols Concert. We are hoping this will be an outdoor event on Monday 16th December from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. We are also inviting families to bring along a picnic supper for their family and we will also provide a sausage sizzle for all in attendance. More information will follow and we look forward to this being a great celebration for our school community.
End of year
As we come closer to the end of the school year I ask us all to keep an eye on the community calendar HERE and to be aware of the notices sent out through SeeSaw and our Nforma Parent Portal.
Year 6 Graduation
On Wednesday 11th December our Year 6's and their families will be joining us for a Graduation Mass at 6pm in St James Church. Following the mass all Year 6 children will share a meal and disco together as a final celebration of their time at Trinity. On the last day of school we will have our final assembly in the MPR from 12:20pm. Following the assembly I invite you all to join us in a Guard of Honour for our Year 6 students and all those staff and other students leaving Trinity at the end of the year.
