Snapshots from Springvale Campus

Our recent student-free day provided our teachers with the time outside the classroom to focus on some very important work. It was a busy day of analysing evidence of learning and moderation. The teachers worked in their Professional Learning Teams to look at students’ work, discuss their achievements and areas for future growth. This will not only help them to provide the end of year report for each student but also to ensure that our students continue to progress throughout the last few weeks of the year.

On Tuesday, our school hosted the Greater Dandenong Libraries’ BIG Summer Read launch. JLC students from both campuses, as well as the Noble Park English Language School, attended this special event which was opened by Councillor Rhonda Garad. The BIG Summer Read is a summer reading event for all children aged 4-12 years old. From 1 December 2024 until 31 January 2025, participants can log their reading activity to go in the draw to win great prizes like scooters, toys and movie vouchers. Please look out for a flyer with further details and a QR code to register in your child’s school bag.

As part of this event the students were treated to a Cinderella Puppet Show that brought the classic fairy tale to life in a whole new way. The colourful puppets, catchy songs and wonderful storytelling made the show a delightful experience for everyone. From the pumpkin turning into a carriage to Cinderella meeting the prince, the students were captivated by the magic of the story. It was a wonderful way to spark imaginations and remind everyone that dreams can come true!

Take care everyone and keep working hard for the last 3 weeks of school!
