MacKillop Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to Jessica L (year 3), Claire F (year 6) and Hunter P (year 6) who represented MacKillop at the 2024 NSWPSSA Athletics Carnival. We are incredibly proud of all your achievements in Athletics.

Well done to Jessica L (year 3), who in her heat qualified in first place in a time of 15.01. Her semi final was held the next day and she ran 14.93 and qualified again in first place. In the afternoon, Jessica competed in the 8 years 100m final. She placed 2nd with a time of 15.19. We are so incredibly proud of Jessica, competing at her first primary athletics carnival and performing magnificently.

The other two students competed in their final primary athletics carnival. Awesome running by Hunter P (year 6) as he competed in the 13year boys 100m. Hunter only missed out for qualifying for the semi finals, coming in 21st place, with an impressive time of 14.67.

Great effort also to Claire F (year 6), who competed in the 11year girls shot put final. Claire threw 9.36m and came 13th place.

Expression of Interest Cumberland Zone Swimming Carnival

Over the course of our school swimming program held at Auburn Swimming Pool, some students have been assessed as capable swimmers.

Each year, we take a team of students to participate at the Cumberland Zone Swimming Carnival, which will be held on February 26th 2025 at Mt Druitt Swimming Centre.

An expression of interest form for the 2025 Cumberland Zone Swimming Carnival will be emailed to the parents of these students, at the beginning of December.  Students who would like to compete, are recommended to submit a time for their chosen stroke.

Students who are successfully chosen, based on their times as well as CSPD qualifying times will be notified at the start of the 2025 school year.

St Margaret Mary’s Sports Singlets and Shirts

We still have a lot of singlets/representative shirts not returned. If any student still has one of our representative shirts that was used for the Gala Days/Athletics Carnival or boots/socks that were borrowed, please return to Mrs Foley by Friday 8th November. It is important that these shirts/singlets are returned for our athletes participating in carnivals and gala days in 2025.

Team Sport Trials

Parramatta Diocesan Primary students enrolled in Years 5 and 6 in 2025 are invited to complete a nomination to participate in the Parramatta Diocesan Team Sport Trials during Term Four in 2024 and 2025.

It is important to note that these trials are generally for those students that MUST demonstrate an ABOVE AVERAGE abilityHIGH LEVEL OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT, or in particular sports demonstrate REPRESENTATIVE playing experience in their nominated sport. In most sports, students should have experience playing regular competitions outside of school.

Any questions regarding these trials should be directed to myself, through the school office or school email.      2025 Representative Sport Trials Parent Information sheet
