On Tuesday, we welcomed our future Kinder 2025 children to St Margaret Mary’s for their
orientation session.
The children engaged in a range of play and learning activities and had a wonderful time making new friends. The Kindergarten children were excited to meet and spend time during morning tea with their 2025 year six buddy.
We would like to thank all the parents and carers who attended the workshop in the hall with enthusiasm and willingness to learn all about a day in the life of Kindergarten at St Margaret Mary’s.
Our newest members of the StMM’s community were so excited about their first experience of big school and can’t wait to begin their educational journey with us. We are all looking forward to welcoming you all on the 5th February 2025
At this time of the school year we are encouraging the students in year five to commence preparing for the 2025 school year - their final one at St Margaret Mary’s. An important part of this process is for them to consider how they can each contribute to the school community by sharing their gifts and talents through taking on the responsibility of student leadership.
Jesus was a leader. He taught people about God and brought them closer to Him. Jesus' example of leadership was that of a servant. He washed His disciples feet, took care to be gentle and said "I have set an example for you". Student leadership therefore needs to be seen as an opportunity for our young people to use their gifts and talents for the service of the community.
The next few weeks are important ones for our year five students and for our whole school community. I ask that you keep all the students in your prayers as they reflect on their own and others leadership capacities and capabilities.
Thank you to all families who continue to support the school and their child’s education by ensuring that their child attends every possible day at school. Regular attendance at school is essential for progress.
When students are not at school or are constantly late to school, they are missing out on so much. Without the knowledge, the skills or the support that schools are so good at providing, young people can get left behind and find themselves underprepared for a fast-paced and often very challenging world.
If your child is ill and away from school, please contact the school office, as a note explaining all absences is required.
Some students have been bringing in personal toys from home and becoming distressed
when they are lost or broken. Please talk to your child about leaving toys at home as we want to encourage them to play with their friends and develop positive social skills in the playground.
Our lost property area is overflowing with jumpers, jackets and hats. If your child is missing any of these items please encourage them to check the lost property area and take their personal items home. Please ensure all school uniform items, lunch boxes, food containers and drink bottles are clearly labelled.
Thank you for your continued support. Together we can achieve more. God Bless
