Emmanuel College
Last Tuesday was Orientation Morning for Year 7 2025 and with over 440students attending, it was a busy fun filled time for everyone. This was a great opportunity for students to get to know each other, meet staff and become a little more familiar with their secondary school.
Year 11 students undertaking VCE-Vocational Major (VCE-VM) studies in 2025,had the opportunity to explore new subjects and meet their future teaching team. No longer are PDS (Personal Development Skills) and WRS (Work Related Skills) foreign subjects to them, but valuable subjects that add vital knowledge on their individual pathways, future growth areas and personal growth around these crucial employability skills. These lucky students literally have a head start on others, already gaining their White Card (construction induction) and First Aid Certificate and are now able to gain work placements early next year.
Year 12 students took on the challenge of running a significant event, with our local primary school students. 90 students from Lumen Christi and Stella Maris Primary Schools joined us for a morning of fun activities designed to engage students and help their transition into secondary school. In preparation for this, our students ventured down to Anglesea to participate in team building activities, exploring the concept of leadership and communication. It was wonderful to see students step up and both the instructors and VM staff were impressed with the level of leadership students displayed and their abilities to work together in problem-based activities. Well done to a big week in VM at Emmanuel College!
We look forward to welcoming students back next year for the commencement of Term 1 on Tuesday 3 February 2025. Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable festive season and we look forward to seeing you at events in 2025.
Yours sincerely,
Jenny Hendricks
