The College Captains in 2015 were Sam Patterson and Mitchell Heyes. Both are now teachers, with Mitch enjoying his second year on staff at Aitken.

The Sports Captains were Prudence Cordes and Ellie Tzaferis. Our Performing Arts Captains were Alysha Maric and Jake Wehbeh.

Aitken became an eSmart School in 2015 including the arrival of 'Paris', who decided to steal the show on Presentation Night at MECC, before she was unceremoniously unplugged.

It was also the year that a little orphan named Annie captured our hearts.

2020 was the year that the lives of all of us to an unexpected turn. Covid-19 was a pandemic unlike anything most of us had seen in our lifetimes. Students, staff and parents 'pivoted' to online learning through part of term one and four and all of term two and three. While it was difficult at times, it gave us a greater appreciation for how our College community would band together and support each other.

On Presentation Night, our College Captains, Declan Harvey and Zara Ertekin, highlighted the opportunities this gave us all to

adapt to new learning environments and methods in which we communicate with peers and teachers.

As Mr Forward noted,

Notwithstanding the struggles that many families faced during this time, students reported that they very much enjoyed Home Learning, being more in charge of their day, spending time with family, eating when they wished and even doing lessons in their pyjamas!

Throughout this time students were supported by three Performing Arts Captains, Filipe Filihia, Max Hobbs and Anthony Roperto who helped organise online concerts and play readings.

We saw the introduction of Student Council to provide a voice for our students working collaboratively. Our Sports Captains were George Tsitsinaris and Alyena Kaymakci.

Work commenced on the new Cumberland Building, with the relocation to the Cumberland Village on the site of the old dam and the demolition of the Year 4-6 classrooms.

Register for the 5 Year (Class of 2019) before 20 November.
