Learning and Teaching

At St Joseph's Sorrento, we believe that a well-rounded education is key to helping students discover their strengths and passions. Exposure to a wide range of subjects—from the sciences and humanities to the arts and physical education—not only builds essential knowledge and skills but also encourages creativity, critical thinking, and adaptability.
Each subject offers a unique perspective and helps students develop in different ways. By engaging with a variety of disciplines, students are better equipped to make informed choices, and to become well-informed, versatile individuals.
We encourage all students to embrace the full range of learning opportunities available to them, as every subject plays a valuable role in shaping their personal and academic development.
Each week students attend specialist classes which are taught by staff other than their class teacher. We are extremely fortunate to have such skilled staff teach our Specialist Programs.
