Dear Parents
As we continue our journey of continuous improvement, we have utilised a wider range of assessment tools to support teachers with assessment of their students.
Year 5 students engaged with the PIRLS testing - an International Reading for Literacy
study.
Students in Years 2 and 4 have recently completed Co-Gat testing - provides information for the measurement of a student’s ability to utilise a wide range of thinking strategies across a variety of learning environments.
Essential Assessment provides educators with curriculum-aligned tools that ensure assessments are purposeful and aligned with learning goals.
Teachers also use a variety of Sydney Catholic Schools and Australian Catholic University assessment tools as well as class based assessments.
In light of this, we have made the decision to not take part in ICAS testing in 2025. If you would like your child to participate, you have the option to register as an individual participant and you will complete the testing in your own home.
We will not be renewing our subscription with Bug Club.
Although online reading holds merit, we value the opportunity for children to read a wide variety of physical books and are so lucky to have a school library to help facilitate this.
Wishing all families a safe and restful holiday.
God Bless,
Fiona
