Term 3 Overview

We are looking forward to a fun and engaging Term 3 filled with new learning across all key learning areas.

Literacy

We are continuing to learn more letter and sound relationships and building our handwriting skills. Our writing focus is on informative texts. Students will learn how to write to inform others about a topic by using facts and clear language.

Mathematics

In Maths, we will revise and deepen our understanding of number and algebra, such as counting, patterns and basic operations. We will also explore data by learning how to collect, sort and represent information.  In addition, we will investigate two dimensional shapes, measuring length using informal units

Geography

Our Geography unit, People and Places, explores the places people live in and belong to, and how they are connected to these places.

Science

In our Earth and Space unit, students will learn about changes in the sky and landscape, including day and night, seasons and weather patterns.

PDHPE

We are learning about how our bodies grow and change, as well as how to play games fairly and safely with others. Sport day will be on a Friday this term. 

Creative Arts

This term, students will be participating in both Visual Arts and Drama. They will create artworks and take part in imaginative role play and storytelling.

Library

Library day is Monday. Please remember to send your child’s library bag so they can return and borrow books.

At Home

Please continue to read with your child and support them in practising counting and recognising numerals. These simple activities help strengthen the learning happening in the classroom.
