Principal's Message

Dear families,

Welcome back to Term 3! We hope you had a restful break and are ready for an exciting term ahead. Our staff have prepared engaging lessons and activities that will inspire and challenge our students as they continue their learning journey in Semester 2.

As we return to Term 3, I have provided on current projects and activities below to keep you informed.

New School Fencing and Gates

Thank you for your patience with the delayed installation of the new school fencing and gates. We are currently awaiting contractors to finalise the installation of the automated gates.

The main school entry gate will be open for students from 8:40 am until 9:10 am

During this time please call the office from the front gate for access to the school.

There is no change to afternoon dismissal, with students dismissed from their nominated house group gates by staff at 2:50 pm.

B-Block Remediation

The school has provided separate communications about the remediation and repair of B-Block this week. We hope that the classrooms will be restored before the conclusion of the 2025 school year in preparation for 2026.

Bus Zone – No Stopping Zone

A reminder that the school bus zone is a No Stopping zone between 8:00 am and 9:30 am, and 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm. The school is currently requesting updated signage from the council to assist with the safe arrival and departure of students.

Bus Travel

If your child travels on a school bus, please remind them of their responsibility to be respectful and safe when travelling to and from school. The school  will support the temporary suspension of students from transport if they are unsafe while travelling to and from school.

NAPLAN Results

This week students in Year 3 and Year 5 received their NAPLAN. Congratulations to all students for their efforts and achievements in the National Assessment Program. If you have any questions about your child’s NAPLAN results please contact the school office to arrange a time to meet with a staff member.

School reports and parent-teacher meetings

We hope that you have reviewed your child’s Semester 1 report and look forward to discussing this with you at our parent-teacher meetings that will take place following Education Week 4.

Education Week

We are busy planning an exciting Education Week open day on Wednesday 6 August 12pm –1:30pm during week 3. The open day will feature a variety of interactive classroom activities, followed by a performance from our school choir and dance group. Families are invited to join us for a free BBQ lunch from 12:40pm. This event provides an opportunity for students and staff to showcase our school environment to our families. A permission note will be distributed next week and we hope you can join us for our celebration.

Parents and Citizens Association

Our first P&C Meeting for Term 3 will be held on Thursday 31 July 2025 at 3:30pm in the school library. The P&C welcomes new members at any time during the year and we hope that you can join us.

We have lots of exciting events planned for students this term which can be viewed on our school calendar. I look forward to seeing you at one of these many exciting events.

Warm regards,

Steve

School Behaviour Support and Management

Our New School Rules

As a school, we are committed to teaching positive behaviours and supporting your children to meet our high expectations. Our inclusive learning environment has been created by adult behaviour that is both strong on boundaries and big on heart. We are delighted that the work we follow in school has been made accessible to families, and over the next few months, we will be sharing some tips for you to try out at home in our newsletter.

Behaviour Tip

You get more of the behaviour that you notice most. This isn’t a magic trick, or a self-delusion based on positive thinking. When you notice the good stuff and tell people about it, you change your child’s thinking. Catching your child doing the right thing is more impactful than catching them doing something wrong. Practice switching your focus this week.
