The Classroom Safety & Readiness Checklist is an essential tool that ensures a safe and supportive environment for all students and staff at Jacana School for Autism. By completing this checklist daily, staff proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards, maintain clear and accessible spaces, and prepare classrooms to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those requiring calm areas and minimal sensory triggers. This process not only helps maintain compliance with OHS requirements but also promotes a culture of care, vigilance, and preparedness, fostering a positive and safe learning environment every day.
Please ensure that any injury sustained by a student is recorded in your injury notepad, and once completed, a copy of the notice is sent home to parents via the communication diary. When your classroom notepad is full, please hand it to me for archiving. If you require a new injury notepad, let me know.
An OHS Safety Champion is someone who actively promotes and supports workplace health and safety by identifying risks, encouraging safe practices, and fostering a culture of safety.
A big thank you for being safety champions when we had the huge leak in th Yaluk.
