Senior Learning Community

We have had a busy start to the term with things only to become busier as the term progresses. We remind students to have their hats everyday and for grade 5/6 students, as the weather becomes warmer, to bring a refillable drink bottle to school each day.

Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden

Last Friday, we recommenced our the 3/4 Kitchen Garden program with Senior J in the kitchen and Senior L in the Garden. Last week was the first week where we have been able to base our menu on the produce available in the garden. Senior J last week made some delicious rhubarb muffins and some some sauteed greens (spinach and silverbeet) on some pastry squares. Thank you the Heidi for helping Oscar and Mr Lester in the kitchen.

This week Senior L used the produce of the garden to make rhubarb muffins, open “spanakopita” and a savoury slice. Thank you to the volunteers that come to help Mrs Rankin, Ms Egerton and Oscar in the kitchen.

Next week, Senior J will return to the kitchen again and Senior L will be in the garden. If you are available to help out on Fridays between 11:30am and 1:30pm, please let Mr Lester or Miss Fleur know.

Memoir and Graduation projects.

  • Please help your child source photos to include in their memoir writing.
  • For Graduation, each student will need a baby photo, a toddler/kinder photo, and a current photo.
  • Students will also require a photo album to display their memoir at the end of the year.

Thank you for your support in making this a special and memorable experience for our Grade 6 students!

At Home Reading

We encourage every child to read for at least 20 minutes at home every day. This helps to build fluency, reading skills and strategies that your child is working on in class and also helps to foster a love for reading.
