The exciting time of Book Week is here! This is an opportunity for students to be immersed in books and celebrate their favourite titles by dressing up.
The theme of Book Week for this year is: Book an Adventure!
Parade:
The Book Week Parade will be held on Friday 22nd August between 9:30am-11:00am. Students are encouraged to create a costume that highlights the theme for Book Week or their favourite book. We would love to have our SMPS community attend the parade to be part of the fun that will ensue. Please come to the school gym at 9:30am. The SMPS staff are looking forward to seeing creative costumes and to show off their own! Here are some ideas:

SMPS was a hive of extra academic activities on Wednesday as we held the ICAS English competition and the Prime Minister's Spelling Bee. Many of our high-ability students count down to these events each year and use them as motivation to keep excelling with their studies. Thank you to the families who registered their children. We look forward to seeing the ICAS results and hearing whether any of our students will progress to the state finals of the Spelling Bee. We will keep families informed of any updates via this newsletter.
