Year 10 and Year 11

Year 11 2026 Subject Selection – Key Information (Current Year 10s)

On the final day of Term 2, the College hosted our Year 11 Subject Selection Evening to guide students and families through the important decisions involved in planning for senior school.

For those who were unable to attend, the session focused on helping students understand the WACE (Western Australian Certificate of Education) requirements and explore the two main pathways available in Year 11:

  • ATAR Pathway – for students aiming for direct university entry

  • VET Pathway – offering practical, career-focused options through TAFE or school-based certificates

We are encouraging students to choose their Year 11 subjects based on their genuine interests, motivation, and future aspirations, rather than selecting options based on ease or peer preference.

Subject counselling appointments will take place next week and the following week. We strongly encourage all students and their parents or guardians to attend one of these sessions. You can book your appointment using the form linked here. The subject selection form is also in the booklet or can be accessed here. I also ask that students fill in this online form before their interview.

Please note that this is our first time using this booking system, so if you encounter any issues, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me directly. If the system is working as intended, each student will only see one staff member available to book with—this is because students have already been allocated to specific counsellors.

A reminder that final subject selections are due by Thursday, 21 August.

Here are the links to the Year 11 Curriculum Handbook and selection materials and the PowerPoint from the Presentation Evening. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s options, please don’t hesitate to contact me or Mr Johns.

Thank You – Year 11 Retreat

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the staff and students who contributed to the success of the Year 11 Retreat in Bullsbrook last week. The retreat was a valuable opportunity for reflection, connection, and growth, and it was a privilege to witness the maturity and openness with which our students engaged in the experience.

The retreat was exceptionally well organised, and we are especially grateful to the staff who planned and led the sessions, especially Mrs Furfaro, Mr McNulty, Mr Peter and Mrs Merry who were there for its entirety. Each activity and reflection was thoughtfully designed to encourage self-awareness, strengthen relationships, and invite students to consider how they can be inspired by God to be the best version of themselves. The insight and care shown by staff created a welcoming space where students felt safe to share and participate meaningfully.

Most importantly, the retreat helped to strengthen the unity of the Year 11 cohort. Through shared meals, conversation, challenges, and prayer, the group formed deeper connections that will carry forward into their senior years.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make this retreat such a memorable and meaningful milestone in the Year 11 journey.

Warm regards,

Mr Jonathan Hunt

Acting Head of Senior School (Year 10 and Year 11)
