Taking Action to Care for Our Local Environment
As part of our Sharing the Planet unit, Year 4 students explored how living things coexist and the roles of producers, consumers, and decomposers. They considered how human actions can impact this balance.
Inspired by their learning, a group of students from 4A and 4B (Lavit, Riaan N, Atharv, Riaan V) took action by creating a community awareness video. Over a weekend, they worked together to photograph and film living things in their local environment—capturing plants, insects, birds, fungi and signs of decomposition.
“We wrote a script like a news report to show how living things work together,” said Riaan.
“We also explained how feeding bread to ducks can harm them.”
“We talked about how littering affects the environment and what we can do to help,” added Atharv.
Their video was proudly shared with the school community.
“We were so excited to share our learning with others,” said Lavit.
This is a powerful example of students using knowledge to inspire action.

Year 6 Energy Innovators
Year 6 students have been on a powerful journey, from empathy to impact, as they explored sustainable energy solutions for the future. Through a series of provocations, reflections, and inquiry, students identified real-world energy issues they cared about and conducted deep research into how we might reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.Motivated by a shared commitment to lowering our carbon footprint, students applied their knowledge to design solution blueprints addressing authentic energy challenges. Ideas ranged from hydrogen-powered vehicles to solar-powered schools, showcasing both critical and creative thinking. This unit didn’t just stay in the classroom—many students extended their action at home, testing energy-saving solutions with their families.
We are so proud of the curiosity, innovation, and environmental responsibility our learners have demonstrated. They are true changemakers in the making!
