Library News
Howdy all,
A couple of things.
Re the emails you've been sent for overdue library books. Number one thing I want to communicate is, please don't panic when you receive one 🙂
They are automated (saves me a world of time), which means they can sound a touch impersonal. They are simply meant as a heads up/reminder.
You only need to respond to them if you have lost the book or believe it has been returned, in which case I'll check the shelves. Otherwise, all good.
Secondly, next Thursday evening (21st) our library is having a Twilight Storytime session for the Foundation students. All Foundation families are invited. This is a low-key event designed to introduce new families to the library. We'll read a couple of stories and we can chat and I'll answer any questions people have re the library . It runs from 6-6.45 pm. Students can bring along their favourite book to show other students if they'd like. And they can come in their PJs if they'd like. (May make bedtime a bit smoother 😉).
Thanks everyone,
Kim
Harmony Day
Harmony Day is next Thursday, 21st March. Harmony Day is a celebration of our cultural diversity – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home. We are encouraging students to dress up in something that is special to them from a culture of their choice. This could be their favourite football team or their cultural background/s.
Furthermore, on the last day of term, Thursday, 28th March, we are celebrating International Transgender Day of Visibility. International Transgender Day of Visibility occurs on the 31st March and is dedicated to celebrating transgender people. We are asking students to dress up in the colours of the rainbow or the colours of the transgender flag.If you have any questions, please ask your classroom teacher or myself.
We are looking forward to seeing all the students arrive at school on both days in their dress ups!
