STEM
March has been an exciting time in STEM. Students from Prep to year 6 have engaged with both the science and the Design Technology Process. Students worked on their specific challenges and generated ideas to iterate upon. Our year 5 & 6 students worked towards representing the Solar System with accurately scaled planets, discovering just how big the sun is compared to planets and just how 'small' our Earth is in comparison.
Our Year 3 & 4 students went through several prototypes of their Sundials to utilize the spin of the earth and the consequent movement of the Sun through our skies.
Our Year 2 students worked on iterating their Toys to meet target criteria with appropriate tools and materials. While our Prep and grade 1 students worked on building construction and engineering skills by working on a series of challenges to create different objects for aesthetics or purpose.
Additionally, Students from years 5 & 6 tried out, and were selected to join AHPS's Quantum Print-a-Car team. With our teams finalised we will begin our designing next term.
