THE VET BUSINESS EXCURSION TO YAKULT

On Wednesday March 13, Kambrya Business VET class went and visited the Yakult factory in Dandenong. We learned and understood what it means to run a safe business all while identifying work safe practices. We went on a tour and got to watch Yakult’s being manufactured in the production line from their bottles being made to packing the finished product. We were even able to drink a Yakult at the end of the tour. The workers were lovely, and we all learned insightful

pieces of information about bacteria in Yakult, unsafe work practices in the factory, safe cleaning and how to make sure all the food can be consumed by humans. The tour was very intriguing with interactive models, glass windows to watch the Yakult being made and produced, and life size Yakult statues. It was an excursion that we will all take a lot of valued information from and will recommend to anyone else who is interested in learning about Yakult, or even WorkSafe practices.

YEAR 12 MEDIA EXCURSION TO VIEW JURASSIC PARK MOVIE

Jurassic Park Media Excursion

This week, as a supplement to their Unit 3 studies, year 12 media students had the incredible opportunity to view Jurassic Park, the film they are currently analysing, at Cameo Cinemas in Belgrave.

This opportunity provided students with the ability to experience Steven Spielberg’s 1993 blockbuster on the big screen, just as it was originally intended to be viewed. This offered students valuable insight

into how the original audience of 1993 would have felt watching the film and gave them a greater appreciation for Spielberg’s direction and storytelling.

The Cameo proved to be the perfect venue, with a retro aesthetic and an amazing surround sound system, students were transported back to 1993, enjoying a complete cinematic experience that left them fully immersed within the narrative.
