Final day of Term 1
Environment
Our Environment Leaders, Elliot and Delilah, are participating in the Victorian Marine Ambassador ‘I sea, I care’ Program this year, coordinated by the Dolphin Research Institute. This term, their newsletter features a recount of the Moonraker events that were recently held in Sorrento, and a reminder that Earth Day is less than one month away (22nd April).
Sports reviews from 5/6 summer sport last Friday
Basketball
Congratulations to our grade 5/6 basketball stars who recently participated in the Lightning Premiership and Waverley stadium last Friday. Four amazing teams represented our school with great enthusiasm, showcasing their talent and sportsmanship on the court. A big round of applause to all our players for their hard work and dedication!
Cricket
Caulfield Junior College sent two teams to the Summer Sports and they performed admirably.
The "A" team finished third overall after winning four games and losing only one. The "B" team also did very well winning two games and losing two games.
The most pleasing thing about the performance of the cricketers though was the sportsmanship they showed all day. They played with great humility and enjoyment for the game which reflected their results.
Volleystars (Div 2)
13 students competed in the mixed competition at Lloyd Street Primary School. After a nervous start, the team found their confidence and continued to get better each game. The day ended on a high with a convincing win in the final match of the day! Congratulations to all for having a go at something different and representing the school with pride.
Volleyball (Div 1)
Eloise (6F)
Frida (6F)
Last Friday, we had a 5/6 sport competition against other schools. The sports were, Basketball, Softball, Cricket and Volleyball. I participated in Volleyball on the Mixed team of division 1. There was also an all girls division 1 team with us at Malvern Primary. We all had lots of fun and it was a great day.
Softball review
Morning
In the morning we left to go to Caulfield Park. When we arrived we split off to play. Many other schools took part and we all played well. We played against Glen Huntly and Carnegie in the Morning.
Mid-day
After snack, we went to play against Lloyd street (Malvern Primary School). Unfortunately, we lost. We don’t exactly know the score but we do know that Lloyd street had won. Most of us had lost hope for winning the next game but we would never give up.
Afternoon
After Lunch we went to compete with the CJC Mix team A. The boys went first to bat and won 11 points, then the girls were batting and won 8 points. In the end the boys won and took the victory. In total, the girls team played 4 games, won 1 game and lost 3 games. We played against Glen Huntly, Carnegie, Lloyd street and the CJC Mix team.
