CARITAS- Solidarity Walk

Our students walked in Solidarity, Friday March 8th.  Every year our students are actively involved in Social Justice through this walk.  The Solidarity Walk, raises an awareness about Social Justice for those who live in impoverished countries with no running water in their homes to cook, clean or wash with.

A big thank you to all our families who provided their children with a GOLD COIN DONATION. The Solidarity Walk raised just on $220 for CARITAS.

Thank you to the families and younger siblings who joined the students for the walk and Father Jackson Saunders who also joined the students for the final ‘leg’ after Mass.  Father Jackson sat with the students after the walk and spoke to them about the importance of raising money for Caritas by telling them a story about a friend in Vietnam who would ride his bike to school everyday 90 minutes in the morning and 90 minutes after school.  The Junior students were very engaged in the talk and one student even gave Father Jackson a Blessing after his talk. Grateful-Thanks Father Jackson!

We always appreciate and enjoy the extra participation and involvement from our families during these events. Thank you for your support and generous donations throughout this LENTEN SEASON.

RCIA Program

We continue to keep Mr Brock O’Hara in our prayers as his journey to becoming a Catholic draws closer this Easter.

Mr O’Hara started his journey of faith last October in 2023.  As a whole school community we are excited for Mr O’Hara and we wish him special blessings for this faithfilled occasion.

Sandhurst Diocese Celebrates 150th Anniversary with Pilgrimage

Join with the people of our Diocese on Palm Sunday for a symbolic pilgrimage to commemorate our 150th anniversary!

This ‘sesquicentenary’  pilgrimage from St Kilian's Parish to the Sacred Heart Cathedral, symbolically traces this part of our Diocese's journey while paying tribute to the strength and commitment of the many faith-filled people who have helped to build parish and school communities in the forty parishes of Sandhurst over the last 150 years.

The pilgrimage begins at St Kilian's Parish at 9.45 am with the Blessing of the 150th Processional Cross and concludes at Sacred Heart Cathedral with the Blessing of the Palms and the opening of the Jubilee door at 10.45 am.

Participants are welcome to walk with us or join us at each location for this celebration.

Project Compassion Donation Boxes

(All boxes due next week, the final week of term)

Thank you very much to all the families who have made generous donations to CARITAS through the Project Compassion Boxes. Your generous donations will help provide goods, services and education to those less fortunate through Caritas Australia.

We would now like to ask all families to send their boxes back to school by next Wednesday so that a final amount raised from these boxes can be tallied up and sent off to Kerry Stone, Sandhurst Diocesan Coordinator for CARITAS and JUSTICE.

Thank you to all our St Brendan's families and our wonderful students.  Your generosity and involvement in our school's Caritas Fundraising efforts this term is always inspiring and uplifting.

Next week we look forward to a wonderful week of Prayer and Giving as Term One draws to an end.

Have a lovely last week of term and a Blessed Easter.

Kind Regards,

Leanne Pellegrino (Catholic Identity Leader)
