Grade Six

As the new school year unfolds, our Grade 6 students have seamlessly transitioned into their roles as leaders of the school.

One of the standout moments of the term was undoubtedly the Grade 6 camp to Wilsons Promontory. Our students embarked on an unforgettable journey filled with exploration and discovery. From conquering Mount Oberon to embarking on scenic hikes, trying their hand at surfing, and playing in Tidal River. All these moments provided the perfect backdrop for bonding and creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Back in the classroom, our Grade 6 students have been fully immersed in their studies, particularly in English and Maths. In Maths, they've been delving into concepts such as BODMAS, prime and composite numbers, as well as exploring square and triangular numbers. Meanwhile, in English, students have been developing their writing skills by crafting vivid recounts of their Grade 6 camp experiences.

Term 1 also saw our Grade 6 students actively participating in interschool sports, eagerly representing our school every Friday morning in friendly competitions against neighbouring schools. The camaraderie, teamwork, and sportsmanship displayed by our students have been truly commendable, reflecting the values of respect and collaboration that we hold dear at Oatlands Primary School.

Here's to a fantastic start to 2024, and to the countless possibilities that await our Grade 6 students as they continue to grow, learn, and thrive in the months to come.
