THE PURPLE PRESS

We’re nearly at the end of Term 1 and our amazing Purple students have involved themselves in the plethora of opportunities available to them at Belmont High. We’ve had students participating in many sporting teams, two Year 7 camps have come and gone and it was also pleasing to see Purple students volunteer to help at our recent Open Evening.

YEAR 7 CAMP

What an absolute pleasure it was to spend three days getting to know some of our newest Purple House students at camp Tanybryn. I attended camp the 3-day camp with 7 Purple from Monday to Wednesday and I was lucky enough to spend some time surfing with 7 Urple when we crossed over in Lorne on the Wednesday morning. Both classes are fantastic groups and they consistently displayed our school values of Respect, Opportunity and Resilience while on camp. The time away together helped students to quickly develop a greater sense of belonging to their House, establish strong social connections, and above all else, have some fun!!!! Thanks to Mr Mitchell, Mr Barnes and Mr Buchanan for attending 3 days of camp, and a very big thank you to Ms Lewis who attended both camps across the week. Special mention to Peta Makie who planned and organised such a wonderful experience for our students.

Both Willow Christoforou and Sara Emmerson of 7U spoke at our recent House Assembly to share a recap of their experience on camp. Stay tuned for their report in a future newsletter article.

VIKING OF THE MONTH:

Congratulations to our Viking of the month- Zoe Bridger 11P
