DaVinci Decathlon

As we wrap up another year of the DaVinci Decathlon, it’s time to reflect on the accomplishments and highlights of our journey through this academic competition. The Decathlon comprised a series of challenges across ten disciplines, including mathematics, science, english, art and poetry, ideation, creative producers, code breaking, cartography, engineering, and general knowledge.

Each challenge tested participants’ knowledge, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and teamwork abilities. Throughout the competition, teams worked diligently to prepare, attending training sessions, conducting research, and practicing mock exercises.

On competition day, they demonstrated their skills and knowledge under timed conditions, competing against other schools in a friendly yet competitive atmosphere. While the primary focus was on academic excellence, the Decathlon also provided opportunities for personal growth and development. Participants learned the value of collaboration, perseverance, and sportsmanship as they navigated through the challenges and celebrated both victories and setbacks. We are proud of all our participants for their dedication and hard work throughout the Decathlon. Their commitment to academic excellence and their willingness to push their boundaries have been commendable.

As we conclude this chapter of the DaVinci Decathlon, we extend our gratitude to Ricki Boe and Lissa Coleman, who have played a crucial role in making this event a success. Their guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in shaping the experience for our students. A big thanks must go to Gary Stilwell for offering his own time to transport us to and from UWA. His kindness was much appreciated. Looking ahead, we anticipate more opportunities for academic enrichment and growth in the years to come. The DaVinci Decathlon serves as a reminder of the importance of continuous learning, collaboration, and striving for excellence.

Congratulations to all participants in particular to the Year Five team who came first in Engineering and third in science.

Year 6 Camp

Our boys woke this morning with the birds full of excitement. The boys have been ‘Expanding their Paradigm’ which is the motto of the camp. Children are called to their day’s activities with boot scooting and then venture out to be courageous, communicate effectively so all team members have optimum number of turns and all team members are included.

In the midst of washing and wiping a huge number of dishes and cutlery a student commented that they thought their parents are amazing as they do the dishes every night. A genuine appreciate of parents and the opportunity for our kids to serve have been special and lovely to be a part of. Off to watch the boys on the flying fox.
