MHiPS

Through the Victorian Government’s Mental Health in Primary Schools (MHiPS) initiative, our school has received funding to appoint a dedicated Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader (MHWL).

The MHiPS model been developed in partnership between MCRI, the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Education and the Victorian Department of Education.

This role is designed to support a whole-school approach to mental health, ensuring that wellbeing is embedded across our school culture, curriculum, and daily practices.

Our MHWL will work closely with students, staff, and families to promote positive mental health, build resilience, and provide targeted support where needed.

Melissa McLeod has been appointed as our school’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader. Melissa will be leading this important work and collaborating with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to enhance our existing wellbeing programs, increase staff capacity and knowledge and support students and families.

Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen and expand our wellbeing initiatives to better support a wider range of students and address a broader variety of topics.
