Child safety and wellbeing at Sunbury College: information for families and the school community

Sunbury College is committed to an environment where students are safe and feel safe.

Our child safety framework explains how we support and maintain child safety and wellbeing at Sunbury College. It includes our: · Child Safety Policy · Child Safety Reporting and Responding Obligations Procedures, and · Child Safety Code of Conduct, which outlines acceptable and unacceptable behaviours for all staff and volunteers at our school.

Our students and families are important partners in providing a child safe environment. These regular newsletter reminders are one of the ways we ensure our school community is aware of:

- our commitment to child safety, and

- how to provide feedback or raise child safety concerns.

If you have any concerns about child safety at any time, please contact Sunbury College on 03 9744 1066. Any child safety complaints or concerns are treated seriously. For more information about our school’s complaints process, see our Complaints Policy.

We also welcome your ideas on ways we can improve our approach to child safety and wellbeing. If you have any suggestions or comments, please contact Sunbury College on 03 9744 1066 or at sunbury.co@education.vic.gov.au.

Introducing Macedon Ranges Inaugural Youth Council

We are proud to recognise and congratulate Sunbury College student Ashton Corner on their appointment to the inaugural Youth Council.

As a Youth Councillor, Ashton will have the opportunity to represent the voices of young people within our community, contribute to important discussions and projects, and develop their leadership and advocacy skills.

Throughout their term, Ashton will work alongside Council and fellow representatives from across the municipality to identify issues affecting young people, champion new ideas and help shape initiatives that create positive outcomes for youth.

We are incredibly proud to have a student from Sunbury College involved in this important program and look forward to seeing the impact they make in our community.

Community organisations, clubs, schools and local groups with initiatives or projects seeking youth input are encouraged to connect with Council about opportunities to engage with the Youth Council. To connect you can email youth@mrsc.vic.gov.au

Please join us in congratulating our Youth Council representatives and wishing them every success in their leadership journey.
