Year 9 and 10

Welcome back to an exciting Term 3! It has been fantastic to see our Year 9 and 10 students return with a positive attitude and ready to embrace the opportunities ahead. Middle School students have had a fantastic start to the term, with many opportunities to engage in new experiences and learning beyond the classroom.
Our Year 9 students have embraced the opening weeks of the Naarm Program with enthusiasm, spending one day each week exploring Melbourne through a range of engaging city experiences. So far, students have enjoyed enriching experiences including ice skating, visiting the Melbourne Skydeck and exploring the Holocaust Museum. These excursions provide students with opportunities to build independence, strengthen real-world learning, connect classroom knowledge with authentic experiences, and engage with new perspectives. We look forward to seeing many more exciting adventures and learning opportunities throughout the remainder of the term.
Year 10 students have also had a busy start to the term, participating in their VCE and VCE VM Course Counselling Interviews. These interviews provide an invaluable opportunity for students and families to meet one-on-one with our course counselling staff to discuss future pathways and begin planning for senior school. Students can explore subject selections, career aspirations and pathway options while receiving personalised advice and support to make informed decisions about their future learning.
Some Year 10 students will also participate in their structured VM interviews, an important step in planning for their senior secondary pathway. Other students will begin exploring VCE pathways and preparing for this next chapter.
As we move through the term, families can also expect to receive their student's Work Habit Ratings (WHR), providing an update on student progress and achievement so far this semester. We encourage parents and carers to take the opportunity to celebrate successes with their child and discuss goals for continued growth throughout the remainder of the year.
We look forward to another rewarding term filled with learning, growth and new experiences for all of our students.

Year 9
The Year 9 students have had an exciting start to the term, with the Naarm Engagement Program now underway!
So far, students have enjoyed a range of experiences across Melbourne, including ice skating, visiting the Melbourne Skydeck, exploring the Holocaust Museum and attending the MCG. These experiences have provided students with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, connect with Melbourne's history and culture, and build positive relationships with their peers.
In the coming weeks, students will continue their adventures with visits to Melbourne Gaol, Werribee Open Range Zoo, the Shrine of Remembrance and the Science Gallery. To finish the program, students will put their teamwork, problem-solving and navigation skills to the test in an Amazing Race around Melbourne's CBD.
Students have also been busy preparing for the future, participating in the Subject Selection Fair and submitting their subject selections for 2027. It has been a busy and exciting start to the term, and we look forward to seeing what the remainder of the program brings!
