Principal Team's Message

It has been a busy and very productive start to Term 3. Our students have settled back into the learning environment and have already participated in a wide range of activities and programs, including subject selection for Years 8–11, VCE VM (Vocational Major) 2027 interviews, Year 9 Naarm, Presentation Balls, the Year 12 Warm and Fuzzy Day, Meet the Duxes, production rehearsals, High Ability Programs, Outdoor Education camps and other extracurricular activities.

Our students have demonstrated outstanding participation in these activities and have continued to uphold our school values of respect, resilience, responsibility and endeavour.

We look forward to the remainder of the term and to ensuring that every student at Sunbury College has the opportunity to thrive and succeed in their learning and in programs beyond the classroom.

Students have been actively engaged in a range of programs so far this term, with our Youth Workers facilitating a variety of engaging activities during both learning and break times. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful team who consistently look for ways to create additional opportunities for our students.

With NAPLAN results being sent home this term for students in Years 7 and 9 who completed these assessments in Term 1, this is a great opportunity for families to discuss the results with their child, celebrate their achievements and set some goals for future learning.

Late to School?

Students who arrive late to school without a written note or notification on Compass will be issued with a brunch-time detention. We ask that all students arrive no later than 8.50 am, giving them enough time to prepare for learning and be ready for the 9.00 am start.

Thank you to parents and families for your support in helping students develop positive and consistent morning routines.

Students with legitimate reasons for arriving late, such as a dentist or doctor's appointment, should have a parent note recorded on Compass.

Uniform Donations – Pop-up Second-hand Uniform Store

At the end of the year, we are planning to hold a pop-up store offering good-quality, second-hand Sunbury College uniforms.

To help us prepare, we are currently accepting donations of clean and well-maintained uniform items. Students can drop donations at Mr Lane's office, while parents and families are welcome to leave items at the Front Office.

Money raised from the sale of second-hand uniforms will be used to provide uniforms and essential school equipment for families requiring additional support.
