Principal's Report

Hello Families,

Educational Support Personnel Day

May 16 marks Education Support Staff Day, a global celebration of the invaluable contributions of our ES. At Macedon Primary School, we take this opportunity to honour and appreciate our Education Support Staff for their unwavering dedication to our students, staff, and community. Julie, Emma, Salina, Anne, Ashlee, and Vicki form an exceptional team, committed to nurturing our students' growth and success. We extend heartfelt gratitude to each of them, from the entire staff, student body, and community at Macedon Primary School.

Mother’s Day Stall Thank You

We trust everyone had a delightful Mother's or Special Person's Day celebration! We're taking a moment to express our sincere appreciation to Briohny for her exceptional efforts in orchestrating our school's Mother's Day stall. Thanks to her meticulous planning, the event was a resounding success, and we hope each of you enjoyed your thoughtful gifts.

2025 Foundation Information Session

We're excited to announce an upcoming information session on May 21st tailored specifically for our prospective 2025 Foundation students, where we'll look at various facets of the school, including details about the curriculum and our Prep program. To reserve your spot, kindly contact to the office. We look forward to welcoming you!

National Walk Safely to School Day

We'd like to thank Leading Senior Constable Erik Woods for arranging National Walk Safely to School Day. It was a lovely morning walking from Tony Clarke Reserve to school, and it was wonderful to see students and families walking together. We appreciate everyone's participation and hope to have more events like this in the future.

Stay well this Winter

Symptoms of influenza (flu) can hit very quickly and may last several weeks. Vaccination is the best way to protect yourself and others from getting the flu.

Keeping our school community well

Parents, carers and students are encouraged to practice prevention measures, including:

·       washing and sanitising hands regularly

·       avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands

·       covering nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing

·       staying home if unwell and consulting a general practitioner (GP) or Nurse-on-call as required

·       staying up to date with flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.

Flu vaccinations

Flu vaccinations can be booked through GPs and pharmacies, many of which can also provide COVID-19 vaccinations. Flu vaccination is recommended for everyone aged 6 months and over.

Some people are more at risk of complications from flu and are eligible for free vaccination as part of the National Immunisation Program.

Warm regards,

Andrew Bloomfield
