Year 9 Intercultural Program

Appreciating the cultural diversity of Melbourne

Last Tuesday as a part of our Year 9 program, our cohort of year nines attended a number of excursions around Melbourne for our Intercultural program. This coincided perfectly with languages week and Reconciliation week. During the week in connect we celebrated our cultural diversity, learning some words from the Woi Wurrung Language and then  for Intercultural Day, the students attended one of a range of excursions and watched the documentary "In My Blood it Runs" . Groups of Year 9s visited places such as the Chinese Heritage Museum, the Islamic Centre, the Immigration Museum,  the Italian Heritage Museum and the NGV International and Ian Potter Centre.  It was great to see the students working collaboratively to celebrate our culturally diverse city.
