Languages Week and Reconciliation Week in the Library

To celebrate Languages Week, we made a display with some of the language books from our collection. These include Chinese, French, Greek and Italian titles – all the languages taught at Northcote High School.

We also have a display introducing some Woi wurrung language words, which is the language of the Wurundjeri People. This display also features books about various First Nations languages and some First Nations authors.

If you’re curious about languages other than English, please come to the library and explore our languages collection.

During Make and Take Craft Club this week, we made badges to celebrate National Reconciliation Week and commemorate Sorry Day. The badges included images of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, as well as the Sorry Day flower.
