Principal's News

Journeying Together in Christ

I really enjoy my random walks through the classrooms. I get to engage with the children without a 'script'. The children are natural with their responses and I get a sense of their understanding in a real context.

Smile on your dial day

The last day of term will have a special theme- 'Put a SMILE on your dial', an initiative from our year 6 leaders. This will be a casual clothes day (gold coin donation) and a bbq will be provided by the Community Group. More information next week and what charity we will be supporting.

Our Term 2 EXPO was today. We had a wonderful turn out. I don't think I have ever seen cars to the North end of the stadium.

These photos were taken Friday morning before all the action. Today was a chance for the children and staff to showcase their work from Geography and History. Thanks to some parents who provided a cuppa in our auditorium  after the expo.

VRQA (Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority)

All theGoulburn Valley primary schools are going through our 4 yearly review. It is our turn on  Thursday 20th. Leadership and some staff will be committed to this for the day. An external reviewer from VRQA will be onsite. They have been reviewing documents, policies and procedures for the past 4 weeks. I thank Karina Pigdon, Chris Summers, Donna Allen and Jen McKillop for all their work and administration. Of course all staff do their part every day, but these four people have brought it altogether.

Parent Access Module (PAM)

This is our main communication platform. I placed a message on here on Thursday about WWCC. Please check it out.

This a secure platform for St Luke's families ONLY. We cannot use email and FB for some messages. Most weeks a weekly message appears on Sunday/Monday. Other non-urgent messages  appear during the week.

Men's Night

Unfortunately, I was sick with Covid and could not attend. i heard it was a great night.

ENROLMENTS OPEN for NOW and 2025

After two successful open days (18th April and 2nd May) and many tours, people have had an opportunity to take a look at our school. Existing families are encouraged to collect an enrolment pack if they have a child starting in Foundation or another year level in 2025. This will assist our planning. If existing families could get enrolment applications in by Friday 28th June (last day of this term).

UNIFORM

A reminder that hair must be tidy and tied back if below the shoulder. If you are not sure of the length come and ask. The correct pants, shorts and socks must be worn.

Staff Watch

Well, I thought I better put myself in this week's newsletter if I want staff to share their past achievements. I played and coached soccer and cricket for many years. A few premierships were a bonus.

Some AFL at uni when I moved to VIC and I even played in a darts team during my first teaching stint. Now, I enjoy watching most sports and playing the odd round of golf.

Meg O'Sullivan

We revisit Year 6 Netball and State Champion success. They won v St Theresa's Bendigo by 3 after being down by 11 at halftime. Mrs O continued with netball for some years and her competitiveness is a bonus for our staff team when we get the chance.

20 years

In 2025, it will mark 20 years for St Luke's. I will be sharing photos of our past in the remaining newsletters this year leading into 2025.
