Mrs Rachel O'Connor
I would like to provide a huge congratulations to all the students from Year 11 and 12 that were involved in the Relay for Life on the 4th and 5th May. Despite the rain and the mud, all students participated in this event with great spirit and enthusiasm. As a result, it was certainly a memorable event. Overall, the College made $6,342 for cancer research, walked 271,215m or 615 laps of Don Lucas Reserve and gave a red hot go at midnight trivia. Special mention needs to go to the staff, Mrs Ming, Mrs Gamsaragan, Miss Benson, Mr Cullerton, Mr Walker and Mr Dean who accompanied me over the weekend providing chips, warm and dry socks and support to the students who participated.
The following students completed 42km for the marathon:
William Taylor, Maxim Lukotsievskiy, Hamish Back
The following students completed 24 hours at the course:
Claire O’Connor, Livinia Lill, Jay Murphy, Lily Grant, Claire Falconer, Amelia Dann, Ellie Regis, Xanthe Waide, Mackenzie Gunner, Cloe White, Matt Giller
A special thank you, on behalf of the Relay for Life Organisation committee, goes to
Matt Giller, Jack Adams, Claire Falconer and Jay Murphy who helped the committee set up the site on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
