Hello, from Carolyn.

Respect, responsibility and kindness

Hello everyone,

This week we had Narissa Leung, Literacy consultant, at our school for two days. Narissa has been working with us over the last few years. She has provided professional learning for us in the writing traits, supported us to develop our reading and writing instructional models and generally been a wealth of knowledge and a great support as we continue to improve what we do.

This week, Narissa was here to observe classroom teachers teach a writing lesson and to then give us feedback about how we are going with the way we teach writing. Narissa was very impressed with our calm orderly classrooms, calm teaching staff and support staff, the excellent routines in place to support our students and the individual supports in place for many of our students which mean they can manage their behaviour themselves and have successful learning days.

A  big thank you to our classroom teachers for welcoming Narissa into their rooms and being open to receiving feedback about their teaching, and for always wanting to be their best and to support their students to achieve their best. Well done BPS!

A reminder to always check your child's hair regularly, to treat their hair if lice/eggs are found and hair that is long enough to be tied back, should always be tied back for school days.
