Prep    

This term in STEM, our Prep students learnt about where different fruit and vegetables come from and how they grow. Students have been learning to use our ipads safely and responsibly. They used the iPad app ‘Discovery Tour’ to explore how fruits go from the farm to our supermarkets.

Year 1/2 

Meanwhile, our Year 1/2  students explored how everyday materials can be physically changed in a variety of ways; for example, comparing raw spaghetti to cooked spaghetti. Students created a poster to show how heating and cooling changes foods.

Years 3-6

In Years 3-6, we have been focusing on digital technologies this term.  Students have been creating digital safety posters to display in our STEM space. Year 3/4 students have been practising their typing skills, focusing on using the shift key, tricky words and numbers. Whereas Year 5/6 students  are practising touch typing to improve their speed and accuracy. Students also explored our Makey Makey kits which allowed them to create a circuit with any materials they conduct electricity.
