Learning Across the

Senior School

Year 8 Digital Technologies and Robotics

How are your driving skills? In Year 8 Digital Technologies, students have been exploring control technology. After investigating the development of robotics, they paired their mobile phones to a Sphero and perfected their driving skills. Students then had to code the Sphero to follow a maze in the most efficient manner, making it visually interesting.

Now, it is time to develop our engineering skills and build a claw robot using the VEX engineering kits. Working with others requires patience, good listening and observation as well as skills in negotiation.

GLF Program

Coco-Mae Glastonbury (Year 9) and Jemma Meoli (Year 10) who have been selected to participate in this year’s Youth Governor’s Leadership Foundation (GLF) Program, and their mentor Giuliana Blefari (Year 11), spent last weekend at the annual GLF Opening Retreat in Mylor.  They met other students, peer mentors and a group of adult coaches. Our students embrace this opportunity by enthusiastically stepping up to every challenge, stretching their thinking and forming strong friendship bonds with new people.

Boarders' Week

The girls had a great week jam-packed with fun activities: firstly, by winning the netball match, having Lionel Searle visit, making cupcakes, tackling the obstacle course, dressing up in casuals for a sausage sizzle, pizza night, going to Bounce and Mass.
