VOCABULARY

Represent: Show

Numeral: symbol for a number

Number line: A number line is a pictorial representation of numbers on a straight line.

Tally mark: Tally marks is a simple technique to record a number of objects and to keep track of counting in groups of five

Ten Frame: a grid of two rows and five columns that children can place counters or any other manipulative used for counting on

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Say the number to your child and ask them to represent it in the different ways using that they know. You can also use hands-on material for your child to show their number such as leaves, sticks or pebbles.
