Product Design & Technology

Term 3 has been full of production  across our B-Block workshops.

Year 7 students finished their Playground CAT, which is an introduction to the workshop and skills, as well as how to design for particular needs. Next, they will be designing and making a lamp.

Year 8 students have been working on their Passive Speaker CAT, where they have learned how to use digital technologies to create vector images and cut out their design using the laser cutter.

Here is a range of designs from 8H:

Each of our middle school classes focus on a different material, following the design cycle to make functional and well-finished products. Our Jewellery students have been skill-building learning how to saw-pierce brass to make keyrings, and are now in the midst of production making earrings for an end-user they have interviewed for information.

In Digital Design, students have been using 3D modelling programs to design fidget spinners and making use of our brand new Bambu Labs 3D printers, and the multitude of filament colours.  Please see the great work from Fred, Will, Jackson, Lewis, Ailva and Asia.

Lastly, congratulations to our VCE students who have designed thoughtful products with positive impacts. Their Art and Design Show was on September 8 and they did incredible work!
