A Message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we approach the latter part of Term 1, I am delighted to share some important updates and reflections from our school community.
Last week, our students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 completed the NAPLAN assessments. These tests are a valuable opportunity for us to gauge our students’ progress in numeracy and literacy, and to identify areas of success and concerns where we can provide additional support.
We also celebrated Harmony Week, a time dedicated to embracing and celebrating the rich cultural diversity within our school. It is a reminder of the strength we gain from our diverse backgrounds and the importance of fostering a community where everyone feels valued and respected. Thank you to Miss Collard and all staff who organised activities for our students.
During this Lenten season, our school community has been actively involved in several fundraising initiatives. Project Compassion has seen our students and staff come together to raise funds for the less fortunate. Crazy Hair Day brought a lot of fun and creativity to the College, while also supporting a good cause. The Big Water Walk was another successful fundraising event, raising awareness about communities living in poverty and in need of basic human rights such as clean water and shelter.
Next week, Year 6 students participate in their Camp, which promises to be a wonderful opportunity for students to strengthen friendships and create lasting memories.
As we continue towards the end of Term 1, let us keep up the spirit of collaboration and strive for excellence in all our endeavours.
God Bless,
Karen Prendergast
College Principal
